Chongqing New Century Electric Co., Ltd. was founded in 1992 and is a privately owned high-tech enterprise with independent legal status. The company is primarily engaged in the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and technical services of power system equipment and related software products. It also undertakes technological development across a wide range of application areas, including new energy, electric vehicles, smart grids, rail transit, and industrial control, providing customers with comprehensive turnkey solutions for automation systems as well as full-package supply and services for complete sets of equipment. In September 2016, in order to pursue greater growth in the capital markets, the company consolidated its high-quality assets, restructured its existing business operations, and invested RMB 80 million to establish a wholly owned subsidiary—Chongqing New Century Electric Technology Co., Ltd.—while injecting corresponding assets and technical capabilities to ensure the continuation and expansion of New Century Electric’s business.
Currently, the company’s market coverage spans more than 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China, as well as countries and regions in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, South America, and Europe. Its products are widely used in industries such as power generation, water resources, railways, petroleum, chemicals, metallurgy, and transportation. In the small- and medium-sized hydropower market, the company has successfully commissioned over 5,000 hydropower stations, establishing itself as a well-known domestic brand.
Leveraging the strong talent pool in science and technology at Chongqing University, Sichuan University, and other leading institutions, the company has adopted a strategy of independent, open, and collaborative R&D. It currently employs over 300 staff, with professional and technical personnel accounting for 61% of the workforce. Among them, those holding master’s or doctoral degrees or mid-to-senior professional technical titles comprise 35%.
